LATEST UPDATES FROM ESC STAFF

1/1/22

It’s the beginning of a new year, however we continue to face certain challenges. We recognize there has been a recent surge in COVID cases in our community, including many within our church family.

At this time, we will continue to hold in-person services. However, if you or a member of your household is not feeling well, we encourage you to worship with us online. You may watch our 9am service live at eastswamp.org/watch and on Facebook or anytime afterwards at your convenience.

As previously stated, the ESC leadership team will continue to monitor the situation and use our “dimmer switch” approach, as needed.

For those of you who are dealing with COVID or any other illness, we are here for you. Please let us know how we can pray for you and be of assistance.

6/24/21

Effective this Sunday, June 27th, 2021, masks will no longer be required for any ministry/activity here on campus. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, you are free and welcome to do so.

The staff and leadership of ESC wishes to thank you all for your patience and grace as we continue to walk through life together.

As the impact of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to unfold, we are praying for the many people, communities, and nations that have already been affected by it and for those who are working to stop its spread. We are specifically praying that our God who rescues and saves would put His healing hand on all who have come in contact with this virus and anyone who is feeling worry during this time of uncertainty. The safety of our church family is of the utmost importance.

  • After deep consideration and prayer, we have decided not to meet in person for worship for the next two weeks (3/15 & 3/22) to stand in solidarity with numerous other churches as well as our local government. Instead, we will live stream a modified service at 9:00am Sunday morning using Facebook Live. (Information on how to join in will soon follow.)
  • For the reasons mentioned above, we are suspending all church-sponsored events including, HSM, MSM, Bible Studies, committee meetings, etc. for the next two weeks.
  • We strongly encourage you to connect with each other via phone calls, texts, emails, or other online ways. This is especially important for those in our community who are lonely, vulnerable, or are experiencing heightened anxiety.
  • We are dealing with an unprecedented situation. These precautions are essential to protect not only those in our church family that fall into the high-risk category, but also to help decrease the risk of community spread overall.

Please refer to the links below for specific guidelines on what each individual and family can do to help prevent the spread of all viruses, including COVID-19, in their environments and for updates on what is happening in your area.

Center for Disease Control (CDC)PA Department of Health

We want to remind our church family that God remains in control even when things around us seem out of control. He is active and present in our daily lives and is our constant source of comfort, strength, and courage to face these uncertain times with peace and confidence. We look to God's own word for His promises of His care for us:

  • Isaiah 26:3 - You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
  • Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

We fully trust God is in complete control and will continue to lean on Him for strength and guidance. We are making these decisions out of trust and not fear. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will do our best to keep you up to date with any developments. Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for your continued prayers.
