Who We Are and What We're All About
Did you ever wonder the core of what people were about back in Moses' time (Old Testament era) or when Jesus walked the earth (New Testament)? Did you ever consider, assuming they did things like we do, what slogans or tag-lines might be written on their walls?
We did and when we asked these questions we were led to Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and Mark 12:29-31 for answers. We see these as key passages summarizing huge portions of truth down into a focused, bit-sized tagline. From this we determined that we at East Swamp Church are all about Loving God and Loving Others. It's that simple, yet calls us to so much more. We'd love for you to join us!
The next natural question would be: How does this play out in our ESC body life?
The answer is found in the following three E's. These provide the structure for planning and also the process of challenging our people to grow in their love for God and love for others.
We meet regularly to Encourage one another in our love for God and love for others
(Heb 10:24-25; Rom 15:4)
We're absolutely committed to Equip, train and establish one another in our love for God and love for others
We seek to Empower one another to passionately love God and love others, fully integrating a real relationship with Jesus in our world
(Jn 15:7-8; Acts 20:22)
Bottom line, we're committed to depth in relationship with God and others, development of those entrusted to us as a church body, and a life of complete dependence on the Holy Spirit, trusting Him to do far more than all we could ever ask, dream or imagine according to His power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). Again, join us!
