About Us

Our Purpose
The purpose of our
ministries as a church is to Glorify God by discipling people to Know
Jesus Christ, to Love Him and to Serve Him. Our doctrinal positions are
based on our belief in the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word
of God. Our "Confession of Faith" includes our belief in one
true God existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the deity of Jesus
Christ and His virgin birth, the Holy Spirit as a person, the sin
nature of man and his need for salvation, that man's salvation is found
only in Christ, and that Christ will return according to the prophetic
teachings of the Bible. The two ordinances that are observed at East
Swamp Church are believer’s baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Our Mission Statement
East Swamp Church exists to glorify God: ~
by attracting and winning people from all generations to faith in
Christ, ~ by discipling them to grow in their love for Christ, and ~ by
equipping them in effective service for Christ.
Our Vision Statement
East Swamp Church must mature as a spiritual
community of worshipping Christians who: ~ follow biblical convictions
with Christ-like compassion, and ~ experience the transforming power of
the indwelling Christ in their lives.
Community and Church
East Swamp Church is located just outside
the Borough of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, in a community which has a
population of approximately 30,000 (2000 census). It is a growing
community located within an hour's drive of Philadelphia. The church
was incorporated in 1892, although services were conducted at this site
much earlier. The life of East Swamp Church today is defined more by
its identity with Evangelicalism than by the historical connection to
the Mennonite heritage. East Swamp functions as a local, self-governing
fellowship. |
